INFORMATION SERVICE

With all of the information now available, it is becoming harder and more time consuming to find good, reliable information. Information professionals have the responsibility in total management of information resources, including identifying, selecting, evaluating, securing and providing access to pertinent information resources. These resources may be in any media or format. We encourage the use of information and make information accessible to the users.

CIRCULATION SERVICE

INFORMATION ON TOPIC

The  members can reserve, borrow and renew the resources available in the Bal Bharati Public School Library.



Functions of the circulation desk :

  • Lending materials to library users
  • Checking in materials returned
  • Monitoring materials for damage and repairing. 
  • Troubleshooting circulation technology, i.e. library circulation software, scanners, printers, etc.
  • Collecting statistics on library use, i.e. patron transactions, material checkouts, etc.
  • creation of borrowers pockets, i.e. when using The Brown issuing system
  • Charging and receipting overdue fines.

REFERENCE/ REFERRAL SERVICE

Finding right information in right time is the biggest challenge in today’s changing environment. Hence, The objective of information service is to provide users with information, effective help and advice about  services and resources. Our continuous focus has been on giving awareness to the people by giving idea, effective help and advice about  resources, search strategies and information literacy.

WE TRY TO ASSIST USERS

BBPSBV Library makes the efforts to support the students/ teachers who are in need of  assistance by guiding them in different information literacy matters, subjects and referencing styles, topic oriented and other related information.

The library always ensures its user to assist and refer the right sources of information to go through and to retrieve authentic and pinpointed information they require. The users are referred the cumulative reference sources to find quality information
